State-Run Programs

Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services [5]

  • Adult Programs: Provides quality health care and related services for eligible individuals and families
  • Programs for Children: Kentucky Children's Health Insurance Program is a free or low-cost health insurance program for Kentucky's youth whose families do not make more than 200% of federal poverty level.  Kentucky Commission For Children With Special Health Care Needs Provides assistance with medical care and meds.

Health Reform Status:

Exchange: Kentucky will run its own state-based health insurance exchange.

Medicaid: It is not known at this time whether the state will expand Medicaid eligibility.
